Monthlix allows guests to submit a reservation request by paying a reservation deposit through our website.
This reservation deposit is not a property security deposit. It is a partial payment made to request and secure a booking with the selected accommodation provider and forms part of the total booking price.
Before Property Confirmation
After receiving your reservation deposit, Monthlix will contact the accommodation provider to confirm availability. Monthlix aims to obtain confirmation within 24 hours, although confirmation may occasionally take longer depending on the accommodation provider’s response time.
If you cancel your reservation request before the accommodation provider confirms the booking, you will receive a full refund of your reservation deposit.
If the accommodation provider is unable to confirm your booking, Monthlix will first offer you alternative accommodation options. If you do not accept any proposed alternative, your reservation deposit will be refunded in full.
After Property Confirmation
Once the accommodation provider confirms your booking, your reservation becomes confirmed and the reservation deposit becomes non-refundable.
This applies even if you decide to cancel shortly after confirmation.
Remaining Balance
The remaining balance shown at the time of booking must be paid directly to the accommodation provider upon arrival, unless otherwise stated.
Failure to pay the remaining balance may result in the accommodation provider refusing check-in, and the reservation deposit will remain non-refundable.
Guest Occupancy
Guests are responsible for selecting the correct number of occupants when submitting a reservation request.
Some accommodation providers apply different rates depending on the number of guests staying in the room. Where applicable, the total booking price displayed on the website may vary according to the selected occupancy.
If fewer guests are declared during the reservation process than will actually occupy the accommodation, the accommodation provider may require payment of the applicable additional occupancy charges at check-in before allowing all guests to stay.
If the guest refuses to pay any additional occupancy charges required by the accommodation provider, the accommodation provider may refuse check-in or refuse accommodation for the undeclared guest in accordance with its policies. In such cases, the reservation will be treated as the guest’s failure to comply with the booking conditions, and the reservation deposit paid through Monthlix will remain non-refundable.
Property Security Deposit
Some accommodation providers may require a separate, fully refundable security deposit upon check-in. This security deposit is independent of the reservation deposit paid through Monthlix and is collected directly by the accommodation provider.
The security deposit is held by the accommodation provider to cover potential incidental charges, damages, missing items, or other costs that may arise during your stay. If no such charges apply and the accommodation is returned in its original condition, the security deposit will be refunded by the accommodation provider in accordance with its own policies after check-out.
If a required security deposit is not paid at check-in, the accommodation provider may refuse access to the property in accordance with its policies. In such cases, the reservation may be cancelled due to the guest’s failure to meet the property’s check-in requirements, and the reservation deposit paid through Monthlix will remain non-refundable. Monthlix is not responsible for collecting, holding, or refunding property security deposits.
Changes to Booking Dates or Guest Details
You may request changes to your check-in date, check-out date, length of stay, room type, or number of guests.
All changes are subject to the accommodation provider’s availability, approval, and policies.
Additional charges may apply depending on the new dates, season, room availability, duration of stay, or number of guests.
Monthlix cannot guarantee that any requested change will be accepted.
Property Cancellation After Confirmation
If the accommodation provider cancels your confirmed booking or is unable to honor the reservation after confirmation, Monthlix will offer alternative accommodation options where possible.
If you do not accept the proposed alternatives, your reservation deposit will be refunded in full.
No-Shows
If you do not arrive at the property on the scheduled check-in date and do not complete the check-in process, you will be considered a no-show.
In the event of a no-show, the booking will be cancelled and the reservation deposit will be non-refundable.
Early Departures
If you decide to leave the property before the scheduled check-out date, no refund will be issued for the reservation deposit or any amounts paid to the accommodation provider.
Early departures are entirely at the guest’s own decision and risk.
Force Majeure
Force majeure events, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, war, civil unrest, airport closures, serious transport disruption, epidemics, or other events beyond the reasonable control of Monthlix or the accommodation provider, will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Refunds, credits, date changes, or alternative accommodation may be offered at Monthlix’s discretion and/or subject to the accommodation provider’s policy.
Payment Disputes and Chargebacks
If you believe there is an issue with your booking or payment, you must contact Monthlix first at bookings@monthlix.com so we can review and attempt to resolve the matter.
By making a reservation deposit payment, you agree that once the accommodation provider confirms the booking, the reservation deposit becomes non-refundable under this Cancellation Policy.
Monthlix reserves the right to provide payment processors, banks, or card networks with booking records, confirmation evidence, communication history, and applicable policy terms in the event of a payment dispute or chargeback.
Monthlix’s Role
Monthlix acts as a booking platform that connects guests with accommodation providers and assists with reservation requests.
Accommodation providers are responsible for confirming availability, honoring confirmed reservations, providing the accommodation, managing check-in, collecting and refunding any applicable property security deposit, and applying their own on-site rules and procedures.
Monthlix is responsible for processing the reservation request and communicating with the accommodation provider, but does not operate, own, or control the accommodation properties listed on the website.
